She greeted him expectantly at the transporter bay and escorted him to their room. The leather case she carried personally, although a young ensign was most eager to help her.

Finally everybody else had gone, and they shared a brief touch. He sensed her anticipation.

"Did you bring it all?", she asked, and went for the suitcase.

"Yes, my wife."

When the top sprang open, her hand reached inside and the faint sound of metal on metal could be heared.

He twitched his mouth and sighed slighly.

How fortunate that an ambassador`s luggage was never checked when boarding a starship.
